The Story: Kevin Hector
Kevin Hector was one of the great goalscorers of his era, and had a long
and fantastic career with Derby County, winning the league twice in 1972
and 1975.
He formed a great partnership with John O'Hare in the team that won the
league under Clough and later playing alongside Roger Davies in the 1975
team..
Derby never managed to win a European title, but went close after
reaching the semi-finals of the European Cup with Hector as a key player
in the rounds played.
He was during the 1978 season not able to keep his place in the first
team and joined NASL team Vancouver Whitecaps for a couple of years and
returning to Derby for a second spell in 1980.
He was capped twice, and made his full England debut in 1974 against
Poland. |
