Man City close to first signing, all the latest transfer rumours






Man City ended in 5th place and will play in the European League next season. Manager Roberto Mancini is eager to bolster his squad and the first player to come in is rumoured to be Germany international Jerome Boateng

is currently with Hamburger Sportsverein and the tall defender will probably play a role in this summers World Cup. Man City will have to pay a price in the region of £11 million.

Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres are both on the way out of Anfield, with Man City ready to make a £40 million bid for the England midfielder, and Chelsea supposed to offer £50 million for Torres.

Newly promoted Leeds United will say farewell to Jermaine Beckford who is a close target for both Birmingham and Everton. Sheffield United forward Jamie Ward could be on his way to Leeds.

Birmingham will not make a new loan deal to keep Joe Hart at St. Andrews. Ben Foster is first choice and Alex McLeish is prepared to pay £5 million for the Man Utd goalkeeper.

Mike Ashley is not ready to help Chris Hughton with big money signings next season and his manager must deal and weal to get the players he wants.

Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and Man City can all wave goodbye to Franck Ribery. The French international will, according to Karl Heinz Rummenigge, sign a new and improved contract with Bayern Munich.

Coventry will appoint Tony Mowbray as their new boss, if the former WBA and Celtic manager is ready for the challenge.

Brian Laws could have saved his Burnley post over the summer after a great win against Arsenal in the last game of the season.

Neil Lennon is eager to stay on as Celtic boss. Mark Hughes and Ronald Koeman are both names believed to be in front of Lennon, but no one knows if those men are ready to move to the two team league in Scotland.

Iain Dowie is not certain of his future at Hull, but he is eager to stay on and rebuild the club and challenge for a promoton next season.

Rafael Benitez is backed by new chairman Martin Broughton. Milan Javanovic and Jonjo Shelvey are two new players that will join Liverpool this summer. Rangers Danny Wilson is also a target for Benitez.
